Our focus for this year’s event:

The Covid-19 pandemic has placed many students and their families in difficult financial circumstances. Planned summer jobs for students were unavailable, and some families have struggled. HCC desires that every student who wants to attend our college is able to do so. In an effort to help relieve some financial burden, the College plans to begin a new institutional work-study program.

As HCC does not receive any government funding, our work-study is not a government program, but a program that will be developed through fundraising over a number of years. Students in the program will be able to work part-time jobs on-campus to help defray the cost of their education.

These funds will go directly to students to use toward direct educational costs. And here is where you fit in: the more funds we can raise, the more students we can help. The money we raise in the next month and beyond, through this program will provide a real-time assistance to students in financial need. You have the opportunity to make a positive impact on an individual life in this time when there seem to be so many negatives.
