HCC hosted an alumni event on Saturday, June 24th. Nearly 65 people were in attendance for the event. This alumni gathering was set with the purpose to celebrate the Bible college’s 30th year anniversary with its alumni. Throughout its history, the college has undergone three name changes and 2 location changes. Alumni graduating under all three names were invited to this event. Most in attendance were residents of Heartland, but it was so wonderful to connect with those alumni that came from out of town and catch up with them.
Activities for the day included a bounce house for the kids, lots of outdoor yard games (although not many were played due to the temperatures outside), photo memories, a 30th anniversary commemorative video, and a few short words by the President and Assistant Dean of Students.
The food for the day was a remake of some of the popular sandwiches that students experienced in the decades of the Bible college both at the Solid Rock Cafe in Heartland, and originally created at Felicity’s restaurant in Kirksville, MO (the original location of the Bible college with a hotel and restaurant). The food recreations were much enjoyed by all!
From the feedback received, a good time was had by all!
If you’re an alumnus that wasn’t able to attend this event, don’t worry, there are plans to continue doing alumni events such as these and reconnect with all of our amazing graduates throughout the years. Please let us know if you have any ideas or suggestions that you think other alumni would enjoy. We would love for these events to be a collaborative effort between the college and alumni. If you have recently relocated or updated any of your contact information, please send us a quick email to let us know! We love to stay in contact.
Here are a few photos from the day for you to enjoy.
