HCC students have begun their fall missions fundraising! Fundraising efforts are to raise money for two locations, Native American reservations in South Dakota, and the Philippines. The student body will make a trip to South Dakota at the beginning of December to serve some local churches in putting on multiple Christmas events for different reservations. Students will help set up and tear down for the events, help cook and serve food, and help prepare and wrap Christmas gifts. The funds raised will help pay for the cost of the trip, as well as leaving a donation to help off-set the cost for the churches doing these events. In the spring, the college will send money to a Bible college in Dumaguete, the Philippines to provide them with cooking fuel for the year.
Fundraising Events:
Rent-a-Student
October 9 – November 18, you can “rent” a student to do any type of odd jobs needing done around your home. Suggestions are not limited to the following but will give an idea of jobs the students have done in the past: babysitting, house/garage cleaning, yard work, hanging Christmas lights, pet sitting, etc. Rental of a student or students is by donation, there is no set cost per job. 24-hour notice is requested so we can do our best to get you the help you need. To rent a student, contact Jennie in the HCC Office at 660-284-4800.
